The most appealing thing about the Roland SPD-20 was its versatile sound options, which fit a wide range of styles and playing environments. The Roland SPD-20 Pro Octapad retains every sound from the original SPD-20, while offering an impressive selection of new sounds to choose from. These sounds can be edited using the onboard effects, allowing you to transform each sound into your own. These onboard effects include EQ, compression and 38 multi-effects.

Authentic sounds from around the world

The SPD-20 Pro's new sounds provide the player with a massive range of sounds from around the world, proving the perfect platform for diverse live performances. The SPD-20 Pro features a range of world music styles, including Asian, African and Latin.

Additionally, the SPD-20 Pro includes authentic drum kit sounds, with studio-quality acoustic drums and cymbals. These acoustic sounds are the same as the ones found on the Roland TD-27 V-Drums sound module.

Onboard sound editing for custom sounds

The SPD-20 Pro includes 100 preset kits and over 900 individual sounds, which fit a wide range of styles and playing environments. These sounds can be customised to fit your style using the built in EQ, compression and multi-effects.

Real-time editing has never been easier. The backlit LCD and direct-access buttons allow you to edit each sound during a performance. You can even layer up to four sounds on any one pad, allowing you to create your very own tone.

Why not take it further?

The SPD-20 Pro includes eight sensitive rubber pads, with four dual-trigger inputs and a dedicated hi-hat control input. These inputs allow you to expand your set-up with a range of Roland trigger pads, including the mesh-head V-pads, V-cymbals and the Roland hi-hat trigger pedal.
