Maple is one of the most popular wood materials to craft drum shells from. However, gumwood is a bit more specialised. Gumwood is porous and is classed as a medium/hardwood, offering softer tones than harder woods like oak or birch. The Gumwood on this snare is placed as 2 plies on the outer and 2 plies on the inner - a gumwood blanket around the foundational maple. Adding a warmer, punchier and rounder tone to complement maple's attack and projection. A unique design creating a unique tone.
