Simply put, Classic Oak Fab shells sound the way many engineers try to EQ drums, and that's largely the result of their tonewoods and construction process. Each Classic Oak shell features a 3-ply maple core with 1/16" American oak plies on the inside and the outside. The result is a thin yet dense shell that delivers massive volume with a quick, even decay. Punchy and articulate with lots of articulation and a good low-end threshold, Classic Oak drum shells are built to deliver the goods, onstage or in the studio. Add to that equation modern 45° bearing edges, and with the Classic Oak, you’ve lots of room to tailor tone with the heads of your choosing.

ATLAS and Triad tom hardware

Both toms in this Classic Oak shell pack benefit from Ludwig's advanced ATLAS and Triad hardware. The high tom is supported by Ludwig's ATLAS PM0048 and bracket. This system reduces vibration loss to allow the shell to resonate to its full potential. On the floor tom, low-profile Triad brackets and suspension legs reduce mass on the shell and decouple it from the floor, which results in a cleaner, deeper low-end response. Topping it all off, Ludwig’s Large Classic Lugs give this kit a great throwback look that any Ludwig player is sure to love.

Razor sharp bearing edges provide maximum tone and sustain

Dual 45-degree bearing edge for added focus, attach, and tuning control. A 3-ply maple core is used at this shell's core for the apex of the bearing edge for even head to edge contact. The oak inner/outer plies maximize attack and stick definition for a sound with dark presence and sculpted definition.
