One of the biggest issues in live mixing has been the omnidirectionality of low frequencies, but not anymore. With a Cardioid mode new to LD Systems subwoofers, you can keep the bass firing forwards. You can also use this mode to prevent feedback loops and bass escaping from the back. Pairing a MAUI SUB with an existing MAUI Column unit, turning the SUB unit towards the back and pressing the Cardioid button will dampen the back by -15 dB, providing controlled attenuation to make sure the show sounds its very best.
