The Istanbul cymbal name was established by two craftspeople named Mehmet Tamdeger and Agop Tomurcuk. with over three decades of cymbal making experience, the two names their company after one of the homes of high quality cymbal craftsmanship. Many of their original cymbals are now collectors' items but the new range are accessible for modern drummers to add to their set-up. These cymbals are still hand crafted in Istanbul, Turkey following the history and traditions that stem back to the early 17th century.
The BlackBell cymbal series gets its name from the featured unlathed bells which are darker in both appearance and sound.
