The USA Broadkaster is a revamped version of the original kit used from the 1920's through to the 50's. A kit that defined what was meant by 'That Great Gretsch Sound'. The new Broadkaster sticks to its roots, producing a fat, 'full' vintage sound that adds distinguished character to your mix.
Gretsch have long been innovators in shell design and bearing edge cuts. To achieve that classic, vintage sound, the Broadkaster incorporates 3-ply shells and reverse roundover bearing edges. These shells are made from a special formula of maple/poplar/maple, with an interior-ply scarf joint for shell reinforcement.
The reverse roundover bearing edge is a special cut used by Gretsch to ensure an increased amount of surface contact between the drum head and bearing edge. The result is a much more sensitive response and 'full', punchy tone from your drums. Accompanied by '302' hoops which provide further clarity and focused tone, while being lighter-weight than typical die-cast hoops so the drums can resonate more freely.
The Gretsch USA Broadkaster is the true embodiment of 'That Great Gretsch Sound'. The sound that has become the go-to sound for so many esteemed drummers throughout history. Max Roach, Art Blakey, Phil Collins, Taylor Hawkins - the list goes on. A favourite among a plethora of jazz artists through the 50s and 60s, all the way to modern bands like the Foo Fighters and Green Day. Now you can take to the stage or studio with that same classic, distinguished sound that sets you apart from the many, with the Gretsch USA Broadkaster 22'' 3pc Shell Pack.
