The simple tuning system lets you switch between six different tunings. By moving magnets located on the back of the drum, you can go from the appropriately named ‘Happy’ tuning to ‘Melancholia’ in seconds. These tunings are based around the G scale, with major being ‘Happy’, minor being named ‘Zen’ etc. Three included magnets are placed in various places (directed on the bottom of the drum) to affect the scale.
The tongue drum is made up of eight notes. These can be played using your hands or the mallets included. There are notable differences to each playing style creating different timbres and ambient sounds. These are captured via the built in microphone, accessible via a 6.3mm jack. This allows you to connect to external effects and amplifiers to create a huge variety of sounds. Alternatively, you can connect straight into your DAW for recording.
