The Hybrid 5pc Shell Pack has DDrum's Acoustic Pro Triggers integrated into the shells. There are 5 triggers in total, three tom triggers, one dual zone snare trigger and 1 bass drum trigger. These triggers feature an outstanding tracking ability with absolutely no adhesives required. They use XLR jacks for assured professional quality and to lessen damage as XLR pins are tougher to damage or bend. These triggers are compatible with most existing drum modules.
The Hybrid Shell Pack features 100-percent Birch shells. Birch shells produce a lower fundamental pitch than maple but are more aggressive with brighter highs that have very good projection. When the mesh heads are on and the volume is reduced, the kit still shows off its aggression and power.
DDrum's story began in Sweden - 1983. It was then, that Hans Nordelius (founder of NORD Keyboards) created the Digital Percussion Plate 1 – the first drum pad allowing for dynamic playing using sampled sounds. Crowned an instant success by the marketplace, Ddrum's innovative drum pads, heads and hoops quickly garnered a large and loyal following.
2005 saw the beginnings of what would become Ddrum as we know it today when it was sold to Armadillo Enterprises. One of their first decisions was to greatly expand their product line to include acoustic kits, snares, deccabons, hardware and accessories, making them a full line drum company. Long considered an innovator in electronic drums, they built on that history by being the first to use 100 Ash shells for their acoustic kits. They led the way with deeper bass drums at a time when they were traditionally only available through custom drum makers. Their blended shells (maple inner and ash outer ply) were an industry first as was their use of Alder - a wood known for warm tone and punchy attack.
